Sighted Guide Training

In June, a group of our management and supervisor team attended a Sighted Guide Training session provided by Sharon at Guide Dogs NW. 🐾

We learnt about a range of different eye conditions, what it can be like living with a vision impairment and how to safely navigate stairs, doors, narrow spaces, busy areas (and more) as a sighted guide.

Puppy Visits

We are proud to say that we are also now a training venue for Guide Dogs UK puppies! From July, Guide Dogs North West will be popping in from time to time with some experienced puppy walkers with their guide dog puppies in training. This is an amazing opportunity for the young dogs to experience a whole range of new sights, sounds and smells meaning they will be more equipped to deal with similar venues later in life.

Please remember that these puppies, however cute, are working dogs in training for a very important role so please respect their space and their handlers and try not to interact with them or actively distract them. The puppies will be handled by an experienced team, they will keep to themselves and will be well visible with a branded harness/vest or lead slip.

A reminder that pet dogs are not allowed on site, only those associated with Assistance Dogs UK.
We have three kennel stalls available if required, free of charge.
